Heartache

Grief and Sadness makes my heart ache

Remembering all the happy moments spent together

I know in my mind this is part of life and you lived a long and happy one

But my heart still hurts and sadness creeps into every fiber of my being

I wrap myself in my blanket hand knitted with your love and drink a cup of tea

You loved your tea and goodies, always making sure everyone had some too

Your presence and laughter wrapped those around you in love and comfort

We will miss you every moment of everyday but knowing and accepting

You are at peace and reunited with your true love and that fills me with happiness

The picture of the two of you together again and catching up

Brings my heart peace

1931-2021 RIP Grandma

Emotions

So I just have to ask does any one else get random emotions they cannot place and can’t shake?

For example this morning I have just felt like crying no idea why. I feel fine, I am not upset but I just want to sob. Even my husband asked if I was ok. Again yes, I am totally ok. I hate this feeling especially when it takes time for it to go away.

OK so yeah I have PCOS (Polycystic ovaries) so I guess it could be hormones but I am at a loss at how to manage this crap.

Any ideas?

Pluviophile

Today as I am sitting and working away at my home office the rain and wind has picked up and it makes my heart warm. I am one of those people who loves the rain and cold.

While others get depressed in the winter I feel this is when I truly thrive. Nothing beats curling up on the couch with the window opening, listening to the rain as I sip my apple cider, hot coco or coffee. I tend to have the cat on my lap and a book in my hand. These are my favorite moments!

People who know my are well aware of my proclivity for the rain and although I love to be in it and listen to it, driving in it is another story. People on the road make me nervous and for some reason people drive even worse in the rain.

Another reason I treasure the rain is I live and have always lived in California and let me tell you, WE NEED THE RAIN! I am saddened by the hot drought filled summers followed by statewide wildfires polluting the air and destroying so much in its wake. Respect the rain for rain brings life!

Pluviophile definition

People that love rain are called pluviophiles. The word pluviophile comes from the Latin word “pluvial,” which means rain, and “phile,” which denotes a thing or a person. Therefore, a pluviophile is a lover of rain, or someone that finds joy and peace of mind during the rainy days.

2020 – A Look Back

This year was not what anyone expected it has pushed us to adapt over and over again. There have been a few highs and some terrible lows but in the end we have survived and thrived and will continue to do so.

2020 Highlights-

March – Started working at home(COVID) -Update still working at home until at least July 2021

April (The bright spot of the year) My niece was born and lives very close by so her little smile lights up even the darkest day.

October- 10th We had to say goodbye to one of our kitties (still quite broken hearted)

31st- My Papa passed away

All year- I have done very little yoga. The studio has been re-opened but at minimum capacity and I am still trying to avoid people due to my many underlying health issues.

I discovered diamond art and have completed about 12 pictures so far many of which were Christmas presents I gave out this year. It was nice to have something to do that was relaxing and soothing but that when completed I could also gift. I plan on writing more about and sharing my diamond art here.

Overall I am optimistic about the year ahead and I am hoping to continue to blog more and more.

UNTIL THEN….HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Oh so much Zen in Japan. From the Zen temples to the Zen gardens.

Y -Yen

We really enjoyed using the Japanese Yen, I especially loved that $5 and under (approximately) was in coins which was a great excuse to buy a cute coin purse. The 1 yen was so light they say it floats in water. Kind of cool.

W – Walking

According to my fitbit we walked 63.3 miles in the 10 days we were in Japan. We walked when we could and took the train other times. Most of the easy walking was in Kyoto because with the square blocks it was harder to get lost and the population was less dense. This was one of those vacations we lost weight because we burned off petty much everything we ate.

The sights while walking made you barely even realize how far you had gone.

V-Vending Machines

So epic fail on my part. We did not take a picture of a single vending machine in Japan and they were so neat. They had a vending machine for pretty much everything. Soda, tea, sake, beer, hot soup, cigarettes and so many more. Almost anything you could need they had a vending machine for. It was cool and they were everywhere you went. Just google Japanese vending machines and you can see what I am taking about.
